How can we help?
Answers to common questions about Stan!, purchases and your projects. Can't find yours? Write to us.
Write to us
Email hello@roastynote.com, in English or Japanese. For a problem, it helps to include your device model, its iOS version, Stan's version (Settings › About Stan!), what you did and what happened. A screenshot helps too.
Email supportPurchases
Is Stan! free?
Rui's bench (rubber stamps and personal seals) and Compose are free, exports included. The other five benches open with a one-time purchase: ¥500 in Japan, or your local App Store price elsewhere. There's no subscription.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Go to Settings › Workshop, or open the unlock screen, and tap Restore purchases, signed in with the same Apple ID you bought with. Your purchase belongs to that store account; Stan has no account of its own.
How do I get a refund?
Payments go through Apple, so refunds do too. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue refunds ourselves, because we never handle your payment.
Your projects
Where are my projects saved? Do they sync?
On your device only. Stan has no account and no cloud sync, so projects don't move between devices on their own. Device backups such as iCloud Backup normally include app data, so restoring a new iPhone from a backup of your old one should bring your projects with it. To keep a design anywhere else, export it.
How do I delete a project, or all my data?
In Projects, choose a project's delete option, then Delete project. To remove all of Stan's data from your device, delete the app.
Why does Stan ask for my camera or Photos?
The camera is used only when you choose to take a photo for a craft. Photos are picked with your device's own picker, so Stan sees only what you choose. If you save an export to Photos, your device asks before Stan can add it. Nothing is uploaded. See our Privacy Policy.
Making things
Can I have a real stamp made from my design?
Yes, for rubber stamps and personal seals. Export the SVG or PDF, sized in millimetres, and send it to a stamp maker with the making notes from the ZIP. Wax seals and book embossers are digital previews and artwork for now; Stan doesn't make die files yet. Stan itself doesn't manufacture anything.
Can I post a letter with a Postal Stamp?
No. Postal Stamps are art prints that look like postage stamps. They aren't valid postage.
How do I change the language?
Go to Settings › Language and choose Match device, English or 日本語.
Which devices does Stan run on?
iPhone and iPad with iOS 15 or later.
